What is Restylane/Perlane?

How does it work?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the dermis of the skin. HA, in addition to providing restoration of volume, also causes absorption of water to the areas to plump and even the texture of the skin.
How fast will it work?

Does it hurt?
Dr. Mahoney uses both topical anesthesia and a local injectable anesthetic to provide a nearly pain-free experience. Post treatment pain is also minimal and can be controlled by Tylenol or Advil.
How long will it last?
Restylane injectable gel is FDA approved for correction of moderate to severe wrinkling up to 6 months, but patients frequently experience longer periods of improvement. Both formulations (Ultra and Ultra Plus) can last up to 1 yr.
Is it safe?
Restylane and Perlane are safe natural fillers which are usually well tolerated. No pre-skin testing is necessary
