Stephen E. Mahoney, M.D.
Dr. Stephen Mahoney is a long-time Houstonian graduating from Memorial High School. He then attended and graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas and then completed his Dermatology residency at the University of Texas at Houston. During this time, he has received extensive training in medical and surgical Dermatology as well as Dermatopathology and Cosmetic Dermatology including Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra and laser treatments. He has been in private practice, owning West Houston Dermatology since July of 1993.
Dr. Mahoney is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He holds an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He has served on several national Dermatology Advisory Boards and lectures regionally on topics including acne, psoriasis, Botox, Restylane, Juvederm and laser treatments. He is the Medical Director of Cosmetic Services for Advanced Aesthetic Institute (AAI), a prominent aesthetic laser leasing company.
Judie Franks, M.S.N., F.N.P
Judie Franks joined West Houston Dermatology, PA in 1996. She is an A.N.C.C. Board Certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Judie received her Master’s degree in Biomedical Science and Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Texas – Health Science Center, Houston. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Association, and the Houston Area, Texas, and American Nurse Practitioner Associations. She has lectured in Dermatology at the Texas Woman’s University School of Nursing, and has served on a number of Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Advisory Boards.
Valorie Coulter, NP-C
Valorie Coulter, NP-C joined West Houston Dermatology, PA in 2011. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Valorie attended the University of Arkansas where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Pulmonology and Neurosurgery before returning to school to become a Nurse Practitioner and pursue Dermatology. She then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program and received a Master of Science in Nursing. During her graduate education, Valorie completed a specialty internship in Dermatology. She is trained in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Dermatology, American, Texas, and Harris County Nurses’ Associations, and the Houston Area Nurse Practitioner Association.
Janet Bradley
Janet Bradley-Platt is an exceptionally knowledgeable licensed Esthetician of 8 years, a member of the AAEA and Dermatology Nurses Association. She is experienced in providing and maintaining the highest standard of esthetics, which includes treatments and recommendations for home care, daily operational procedures, including Quantum IPL, Chemical peels, Gentle-lase laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and Jane Iredale mineral make-up consultations.
